Support the Stuart Collection

Supporting the Stuart Collection through giving or membership directly benefits the artists and commissions. We have the privilege of support from UC San Diego that covers all overhead and maintenance, allowing financial contributions to directly impact our mission.

Friends of the Stuart Collection

The Friends of the Stuart Collection was formed in 1998 to ensure the growth and preservation of UC San Diego’s internationally recognized outdoor sculpture collection.

Support from the Friends has enabled the restoration of Niki de Saint Phalle’s Sun God; the publication of Landmarks: Sculpture Commissions for the Stuart Collection at the University of California San Diego in 2001 and Landmarks: The Art of Paying Attention in 2020; and the completion of Kiki Smith’s Standing, John Baldessari’s READ/WRITE/THINK/DREAM, Tim Hawkinson’s Bear, Barbara Kruger’s Another, Do Ho Suh’s Fallen Star, John Luther Adams' The Wind Garden, Mark Bradford's What Hath God Wrought, and Ann Hamilton's KAHNOP•TO TELL A STORY.

We are updating our membership programs and will update this page by the end of June. Stay tuned!

Volunteer

Become a docent! We rely on the support and expertise of our wonderful docents to be able to provide visiting hours at Fallen Star and tours of the Collection. Many of our docents are retired UC San Diego faculty or staff, and have unique perspectives to share about their experience of the collection. To express interest, please email Jane Zwerneman at jzwerneman@ucsd.edu.
